Random quote of the day:

“As the caterpillar chooses the fairest leaves to lay her eggs, so the priest lays his curse on the fairest joys.”

I’m on a roll, folks, but I do think this is one of my better ones. What sort of occupation to you suppose an Edenist is?

Random quote of the day:

“Skepticism or debunking often receives the bad rap reserved for activities—like garbage disposal—that absolutely must be done for a safe and sane life, but seem either unglamorous or unworthy of overt celebration….Proper debunking is done in the interest of an alternate model of explanation, not as a nihilistic exercise. The alternate model is rationality itself, tied to moral decency—the most powerful joint instrument for good that our planet has ever known.”

Random quote of the day:

“There is plenty of justice on television, but not so much in the real world. Maybe that’s why so many of us like television so much.”

So, a humorous comment by mount_oregano led me on a little journey around The Internet and I stumbled upon this Analyzer called Gender Guesser. I plugged in some words from Venus In Transit, the same novel I used for yesterday’s meme, and discovered I am a European male. Here are the results:

Total words: 330

Genre: Informal
Female = 215
Male = 501
Difference = 286; 69.97%
Verdict: MALE

Genre: Formal
Female = 303
Male = 370
Difference = 67; 54.97%
Verdict: Weak MALE

Weak emphasis could indicate European.
